Chiropractor

I'm seeing a chiropractor at the moment as part of my efforts to get some pain relief. I've tried most things: analgesia, heat packs, anti-inflammatories, physiotherapy, massage and usually when I am at my wit's end, I go and see the chiropractor. Each and every practitioner has their own opinion to what ails me... according to several practitioners I have seen (orthopaedic surgeon, physiotherapist, chiropractors, massage therapists):

1. Hypermobility syndrome
2. Degenerative disc disease
3. Sacroiliac joint dysfunction
4. Loss of lumbar lordosis
5. Facet joint strain

I probably have all of the above. Whatever the case is, I always find that the pain just needs rest and time to go away. Since rest is improbable, then the time for it to go away takes a bit longer. Meanwhile, I'm spending all this money for treatment that might just be a placebo.

I had an Xray done this week that shows that I do not have a lumbar lordosis (the natural curve of the spine). My spine is as straight as a board and anything I carry is putting strain in the wrong places of the spine. That is why I am hurting and why I cannot straighten my back.

It got me thinking that I definitely need to go for hajj sooner rather than later for surely this will just get worse as I get older. Perhaps when I am older and the kids have grown up, I'll get a laminectomy/ discectomy.

Everyone on this earth has an affliction to bear. This is my share.
