Layth has been to school for 2 weeks now. I am enjoying the time he is away as I can finally take naps during the day or just enjoy the quiet without those why why why questions that he likes to bombard at me. I can also catch up with my student guild lectures. I also enrolled in the Ulum Quran course in Sydney but since I couldn't attend, I need to catch up on two days worth of lectures too before taking the exam.
When he comes home, he is usually preoccupied about playing with the iPad until bedtime. I seem to have a son who is 5 going on 15. He doesn't talk about school until I ask him about it one by one. He just plays games and if I didn't nag him to eat dinner he would not eat dinner.

| The to-do list |
There has been a liiitle bit of inkling that he might be tired of school already. I think he has only just realised that school is a 5-day thing that will go on and on whether he is tired or not. Today for the first time he woke up at 7.30 instead of his usual 6am. He had to be coerced to take a shower. For the time being I am organising all his stuff for him - bag, clothes, socks (!!), lunchbox. Maybe when he is more settled, I can get him to manage his own things gradually.

Yes, Layth. InshaAllah we'll be doing this for the next 13 years.
