Encroach

I really don't like people encroaching on my weekends, especially last minute things. After going to work from Monday to Friday, all I want to do during the weekends is rest, spend time with my kids (and hubby!) and catch up on my lessons. Believe me, with the helpers being on holiday on weekends I've got my hands full that I end up buying our meals anyway.

I plan my weekend a week in advance and any deviation from this really annoys me. I cannot just drop everything on a whim and answer someone's invitation for example. It's just the type of person I am. If you want me to do something on a weekend, you gotta tell me early so I can pencil it into my family calendar.

This weekend hubby is working so I am essentially by myself with the two boys. Thauban is getting vaccinated so he's not going to be a happy camper for a while. If I feel adventurous I might go to IKEA because there is a sale and I want to get a storage solution for Layth's burgeoning number of toys. Or I might go to Toys R Us to get Thauban a playpen. I'll do whichever will be suited to Thauban's mood tomorrow. The weekend is the only time I can go shopping because stupidly the shops here close at 5 and I get home at 5pm (seriously what is the point of that?).

So, I'm sorry I won't be able to attend the program for juniors tomorrow since someone just told me about it an hour ago. Funnily, I am semi-incapable of flexibility (ha ha ha how ironic).

And that is one of the reasons I like about Al-Kauthar; their courses are planned 3 months in advance. So I have already circled the dates on my calendar. They've got dibs!

Sometimes I think Muslims just need to be a bit more organised.
